Summary

You will be our first technology go-to expert and play an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth. You will be responsible to hire, scale and manage the key tech roles in the company and be able to create and manage a sustainable remote working tech culture within the company. You will be also responsible to  provide sound technical leadership in all aspects for Lean Scale to use the technological resources. Making sure the technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely for Lean Scale by communicating with employees, stakeholders and customers. Ownership of end-to-end new systems and infrastructures to be evaluated and implemented for the initiatives of the company and selected clients of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and understand the current architectures considering the current tech stacks, design and suggest improvements and support architectural decisions for all of the projects and products of Lean Scale
  • Develop and lead technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals
  • Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage and help departments use technology profitably
  • Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Build quality assurance and data protection processes
  • Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
  • Lead and design scalable solutions for the company
  • Enable and manage the business units by supplying a rapidly deliverable solution architecture.
  • Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
  • Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
  • Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships
  • Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making hiring decisions
  • Outline the goals for research and development
  • Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services 
  • Making executive decisions on behalf of the company’s technological requirements
  • Maintaining a consumer - focused outlook and aiding in the delivering of IT projects to market.
  • Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Being in the 3 hour radius (+/-) GMT+3 or willing to work in GMT+3 time zone
  • Making direct tech stack or tool selection decisions or being able to support team decisions with a hands on approach.

Functional Skills

Functional Skills:

  • Experience in a leadership position, as s/he will be working as both our technology and business expert alongside our CEO.
  • Being an excellent communicator and fluent english speaker (verbal & written)
  • Expertise in React JS, Node JS, PHP and cloud native technologies
  • Experience with Magento is a plus 
  • Being familiar with a variety of business concepts and experienced in using technological trends to help us build the Company’s business goals
  • Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology
  • Exceptional team management skills, Hands on approach with the team without the use of micro management.
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future 
  • In-depth knowledge of web systems architecture, design and development
  • Hands on experience with complex project management 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Attention to details.

Education & Experience

  • Preferably a BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant field, and a MBA would be an asset.
  • 10 years working in a tech specific role ( ideally 10.000 Hours in doing, 10.000 Hours in managing)
  • 3 years of managerial experience (Head of, VP Engineering, CTO)
  • Managing a team size of 30+ engineers (Dev, Ops, Data, QA, Sec etc.)
